Role-playing by e-mail is really very simple. Here are the few steps you must take to begin your adventures through time and space:
1) First, you must join the Dr Who RPG Onelist. Follow the directions for subscribing to the list. It is usually a good idea to join in digest mode, as your email tends to become very full rather quickly if you subscribe in the single message at a time mode.
2) Next, you must create your character(s). Using the form provided, create your character according to the rules of the game and submit the form.
3) Once it is approved, you will receive an email message from the game owner and you can then begin your adventures. Then, you can either join in someone else's story (if it is addressed to everyone, not if it is to the attention to someone else specifically), or start your own storyline. You may have several different stories going with different players at once, or choose to role-play with only one of your respondants. Either way, remember, you are dealing with people here and feelings can get hurt. Always try to show the same courtesy with which you would like to be treated.
4) And remember, don't be afraid to use your imagination and have FUN!
